About Me

I am a writer and freelance editor with a background in language teaching and English literature. Enjoying what I anticipate being an extended leave from academia, I am excited about extending my learning--and deepening my sense of community--outside the university.

After completing my MA in English literature in 2010, I became certified to teach English as a foreign language to adults. The most rewarding aspect of the classroom for me was connecting with international students in a learning context. I continue to imagine the creative and productive potential of teams of learners from around the world collaborating on projects that thematize global citizenship, responsibility, and local action.

I look forward to integrating my more recent learning about environmental sustainability with my ongoing reflections on what gives language meaning.
